I am fascinated by architecture and design. Both the creative process and the way urban planning issues shape the future. I am drawn to subjects around the world that bring together sustainability and humanism, culture and visionary design. From Rotterdam’s migration museum – and the city’s floating farm – to a replica of Paris in Hangzhou, China. Or the mission by a Chinese architect to revive traditional rural design amid the country’s rampant urbanisation. And the radical move to combat urban loneliness through high-rise housing design from Hong Kong to London.
ArchitectureDesign: Building Communities with Buildings
All these subjects seem so intricately woven into the urban fibre of today and tomorrow. Of building communities that are both sustainable and healthy. This is becoming increasingly critical. And brilliant designers from London to New York – featured in the stories below – will continue to tackle those challenges with their incredible creative imaginations.
